School Pool
Find neighbors to form school carpools using our automated matching. Save time and money, reduce traffic congestion and protect the environment.
Traffic Solutions, the County rideshare agency, operates a web-based rideshare matching service that has helped thousands of locals search for carpool partners to get to work. Now you can use our automated matching to find carpool matches with other parents and students who are making the drive to your school. 
 
Helpful Hints

  •  If you don’t find a match check back a week later as new users enter the system. Remember, this is a new service and everyone is in the process of signing up.

  • This service only displays your first name and an anonymous way of contacting you through our website email. Once you choose to email someone, they will see your email address in addition to any details you provide in your correspondence.

  • You are in charge of talking with other parents and meeting beforehand to determine if you are comfortable having your child ride with them and vice versa.

  • If you already have an account with Traffic Solutions, use an alternate email for your creation of a second account for the School Pool matching.
Read the instructions below to create your account.
  • Go to www.TrafficSolutionsOnline.info
  • Follow the link to "Create an Account"
  • Accept the terms for use
  • Enter your name, address and password, and check the box for "Commuter Matching"
  • Click Next
     
  • IMPORTANT - Choose your student's school name from the employer drop down list, e.g. "Santa Barbara Junior High - Student Carpool"
     
  • IMPORTANT - Check the box to "Limit searches to only co-workers" such that you are only matched with families at your school


     
  • Save
  • Enter your start address (the street number of your address will not be displayed to other users)
  • Save
  • Your destination address should be automatically filled in to match the school that you chose earlier (do not select a landmark/park n' ride)
  • Answer the South Hwy 101 question
  • Enter a mailing address (this will not be displayed to other users)
  • Enter your student's school hours for the "Work Start Time" and "Work End Time"
  • Save

    Now your account is created and you can search for your matches
     

  • Click on the button "Click here for your matches" and you will be provided with a list of up to 25 potential school pool partners


     

  • Follow the link "more" to the right of the potential carpool partners name, and "take the next step" if their details and location fit your needs.
