RideShare Week
October 15-19, 2007
Winners Finalized!
Will you fuel your community with the money you saved?

This holiday season, gas is half price and $1 equals $7. Huh?

If you carpool, you can cut your gas costs in half.  If you donate some of that money to the Foodbank, each dollar
you donate provides seven dollars worth of food to people in your community.  That's a lot of turkey dinners!

You can find out what you saved by logging into Traffic Solutions Online and saving your calendar.  Ask yourself: will you fuel your community, instead of your car?  If so, click here.

Don't see your name?
You still won, and so did your community.
Over 1,000 people took the pledge to rideshare at least once during the week.  574 people logged trips on Traffic Solutions Online to participate in RideShare Week.

It's amazing that a few hundred people could save over 54,000 miles and put over $28,000 back in their pockets-- in just one week!  That's about  $50 per person. And how about environmental benefits? We also saved over 85 pounds of greenhouse gases per person.

The bottom line is, our participants saved money, reduced traffic congestion, and improved air quality.  Check out the complete stats below!

Thank you, partners and sponsors!
As always, we couldn't have done it without our sponsors.  Kruz 97.5, Magic 106.3, Powercom Data and Voice, Global Feet, and Hazard's Cyclesports donated some great prizes.  The help of MTD, SMAT, and COLT was instrumental in getting the word out.  Traffic Solutions and RideShare Week participants thank you for your support!

Our partners also helped us get the word:  thanks to the Santa Barbara Bike Coalition, Community Environmental Council, SBCC Center for Sustainability, Santa Barbara Fitness Magazine, Slow Food Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District, UCSB Transportation Alternatives Program,  SBCC Commuter Services, and finally, thanks to our major RideShare Week partner, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County.

A huge thanks to our sponsors!
