Employer vs. Employer - Competitions and Prizes |
|
In addition to the five person team competition and prizes,
this year a big part of the Commute Challenge will be the
employer competitions. We have come up with size based
employer categories to even the playing field. There will be
one winner for each category. Each winning employer will get
a photo of their participants in their local newspaper,
commending their performance, as well as the prize listed
below. |

Be recognized as a community leader
What
happens when your company participates in Traffic Solutions’
2008 Commute Challenge? You gain invaluable exposure for
your business as you support sustainable transportation,
better air quality, and improved employee health and
wellness - including commute cash savings and fun prizes for
your employees.

Media Coverage
With high fuel prices, concerns about global warming, and major
highway construction on Hwy 101 to begin this summer, we are
expecting great media coverage and a high level of
participation by Santa Barbara employees and residents.
Winning employers will get a photo of their participants in
their local newspaper, commending their performance. There
will also be press releases to announce the winners and
prompt media stories and interviews.

Encourage your employees to participate in the Commute
Challenge and show them that you support their commute and
want to help them earn fun prizes and save lots of money.
Participants in the Commute Challenge will enjoy a team
competition with great prizes, and learn ways to save money
and ease stress by choosing greener commute options: Bus,
Bike, Walk, Carpool, Vanpool, Telecommute, Train, or Skate.
Employees can use our website or call 963-SAVE to find their
best commute options.

How to Register Your Company
1. Register yourself as an individual

2. Contact Traffic Solutions to be designated as an account
administrator.
3. Customize your employer account (be sure to indicate the
total number of employees that work in your Santa Barbara
County offices).

How to Promote the Commute Challenge
• Sponsor a lunch for your registered employees.
• Have your own prize giveaways for participants.
• Send out words of encouragement to feed the competitive
frenzy!
• Designate an Employee Transportation Coordinator to help
form teams and work with Traffic Solutions to find the best
commute options for each individual.
